ACES Microboard - Crystal Bowack

ACES Microboard was
formed in October 1999.
The first challenge
faced by our microboard was getting funding from the Ministry of Health.
We received Ministry of Health funding by saying the Ministry of Children
and Families was funding us for community support and that we needed them
to fund s for Crystal's daily care and health support
Our second challange was
getting a funding journal vouchered to the Ministry of Children and
Families so that we has only one point of accounting and reporting.
We chose Vela Microboard
Association after researching all other options. It best suited our vision
for Crystal as we wanted her to have a fully integrated lifestyle in her
own community.
The Microboard has given
Crystal a full life with the ability to be flexible to her changing needs.
She can change her activities whenever she wants to do something
different.
Crystal's favourite
activities include horseback riding, working at the Isabella Reader
Theatre, selling Regal Gifts, playing bingo, and going swimming. That's to
name a few!
